CS and Feminism - Cyberfeminism: Artificial Intelligence and the Unconscious Biases
This blog is about Thinking Activity on. This task is assigned by Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad sir, Head of the English Department of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU). As a part of the syllabus, students of English department are learning the paper called Cultural Studies.
Cyberfeminism is a feminist approach which foregrounds the relationship between cyberspace, the Internet, and technology. The term was coined in the early 1990s to describe the work of feminists interested in theorizing, critiquing, exploring and re-making the Internet, cyberspace and new-media technologies in general.
1. Kirti Sharma: How to keep human bias out of AI?
Women are behind men in artificial life. There are all the reasons. In our country, the patriarchal country, the importance of man is considered special. When the importance of woman is considered of low type. This is not only in India but also in many other countries of the world. Which has been going on for a long time. But nowadays women have come forward, taking leadership. But there are still some women who are backward. In which some things seem to be only for men. Which is continuous from time to time. Women need a man to do something of their own. Women need the support of men. Like till the date some girls have not their own Gmail Id, Facebook Id and so many things. So patriarchy is also described. Women or girls make a fake Id on Facebook to hide their gender because they don’t want any kind of hurdles. It creates an impression in one's mind that it cannot work without him.
2. Robin Hauser: Can we protect AI from our biases?
Now In the World Compare to men and women to use a social media more then men. some culture and society not to allowed to use social media for women and we allowed social media but not any post or photo related her life and she not use her name in Id. some woman use Id her husband or Brother name. because told them social media not safe for woman's. Now many cyber case happened in real life and happened with the woman. social tougher woman harassment increase.
Our experience of cyber space and women's identity.
Cyberfeminism is a very interesting term for discussing and thinking. It's very interesting to see that still some women are facing some kind of problem Technology with social media and they are getting afraid of using such a thing. So we have to write our own experience about cyber feminism. I had the same experience when I started Facebook, Instagram so at that time I hid my profile and my identity because I was afraid that I might be talking wrong. Slowly and steadily we are coming out from this kind of fear.culture studies : speed and the counter cultuer of slow Movement

Paul Virilio - Dromology
The word Dromology is derived from Greek noun 'Dromos' which is used for race or racetrack. With this meaning in his mind he coined the term Dromology which means "Science of Speed" According to Virilio Speed became the soul agent of progress. He further said that…..
"There was no industrial revolution,
only Dromocratic Revolution,
There is no Democracy only Democracy,
There is no Strategy only Dromology."
With the help of technology and computers we can communicate with people from any corner within no time. But Virilio is Critical of thought and said that technologies distorting 'Real' reality by replacing real time and space with "Virtual Realities."
A German sociologist, Ulrich Beck propounded the term Technoulture in his book Risk Society: Towards a New Modernity. He further explains how risk theory works in various cultural artefacts like, in cyber world we find computer anti-virus software are sold on the grounds of risk and threats of bug attacks. Things which are governed by risk becomes the risk society. Beck explains that risk are not real but they are about becoming real. When a certain risk is predicted, it is just an assumption of future incident. But when risk becomes real it becomes a disaster or catastrophe.
Why are we so scared of Robots
This blog is about Thinking Activity on Why are We so Scared of Robots / AIs?. This task is assigned by Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad sir, Head of the English Department of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU). As a part of the syllabus, students of English department are learning the paper called Cultural Studies.
Robot
According to Britannica :
robot, any automatically operated machine that replaces human effort, though it may not resemble human beings in appearance or perform functions in a humanlike manner. By extension, robotics is the engineering discipline dealing with the design, construction, and operation of robots.
Why are We so Scared of Robots ?
we use robot in every field for a good purpose and robot work fast and very well no mistake in his work but unfortunately some time robot is dangerous our life and another side people is worked not well and slowly. people have many mistakes in work. Another side robot replace a people place in work but robot is good as well as dangerous for all human beings.
Why are we so Scared :
1. Robot take our job
Automation’s reputation can make us fear for future levels of employment. We see this example most starkly in car manufacturing. General Motors, Toyota, and BMW previously employed thousands of welders, mechanics, and more. Now vast swathes of the automotive industry operate without human intervention.
In the long-term view, automation limits neither profit nor growth. While the American auto-manufacturing workforce is only at 70% of its turn-of-the-millennium size, it is contributing far more to the US economy than previous years.
Why take our jog by robot?
Robot is a machine and he work
2. Robot take over
From Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, to the Wachowski’s Matrix films. Popular culture tells terrifying tales of robots turning against us. What makes us imagine this? Why do we retell stories of robotic rebellion so often?
If robots are unpaid workers, wouldn’t we rebel in their shoes? While we know robots are not people, on some level we cannot help assigning them human traits, especially as they are doing more and more of ‘our’ work. As they become more autonomous, more intelligent, and more capable, we start wondering things like “What if they become self-aware?”
In Literature we use in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein as a monster but he is not a real monster he created by protagonist and not accept society or Protagonist. so, he revenge and dangerous for human like as well as robot.
What is artificial intelligence (AI)?
Artificial Intelligence is the ability of computers/machines to perform tasks that usually people perform. For example, the ability to learn, make decisions, and solve problems.
AI works via special software and includes algorithms and technologies that allow machines to learn from experience and adjust their actions without human intervention.
The purpose of artificial intelligence is to take actions that have the best chance of achieving a specific goal.
Artificial Intelligence is growing more sophisticated by the day, and this can have risks ranging from mild to catastrophic existential risks. The level of risk imposed by Artificial Intelligence is so heavily debated because there’s a general lack of understanding regarding Artificial Intelligence.
1.The Artificial Intelligence is programmed to do something malicious.
2.The artificial Intelligence is programmed to be beneficial but does something destructive while achieving its goal.

Future of Postcolonial Studies
Postcolonialism :
According to “A Glossary of Literary Terms” by M.H.Abrams…..
The critical analysis of the history, culture, literature and modes of discourse that are specific to the former colonies of England, Spain, France and other European imperial powers. These studies have focused especially on the Third World countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean Island and South America. Some scholars, however, extend the scope of such analyses also to the discourse and cultural productions of countries.
According to the dictionary…
Postcolonialism is the critical academic study of the cultural legacy of colonialism and imperialism, focusing on the human consequences of the control and exploitation of colonized people and their lands. More specifically, it is a critical theory analysis of the history, culture, literature, and discourse of (usually European) imperial power.
CONCLUSION: GLOBALISATION AND THE FUTURE OF POSTCOLONIAL STUDIES
CONCLUSION: GLOBALISATION AND THE FUTURE OF POSTCOLONIAL STUDIES this article is taken from Ania Loomba’s Colonialism/Postcolonialism. This article is about the impact of postcolonialism in the 21st century.Article's beginning from the talking about the most terrible events of 11 September 2001, the so called global war on terror, and the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, it is harder than ever to see our world as simply postcolonial.
Article focuses on some important discussions
Liberalization,
Privatization and
Globalization.
'Globalization is just another name for submission and domination’Nicanor Apaza, 46, an unemployed miner, said at a demonstration this week in which Indian women ... carried banners denouncing the International Monetary Fund and demanding the president's resigna- tion.'We've had to live with that here for 500 years, and now we want to be our own masters.'
Some conflicts are....
Man vs Market Fundamentalism
Man vs Nexus between Private Corporations and Democratically Elected Politicians
Man vs Private Companies
Man vs Multinational Companies (MNCs)
Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri’s 'Empire'.
In the article Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri's Empire
Empire can only be conceived of as a universal republic, a network of power and counterpowers structured in a boundless and inclusive architecture. This imperial expansion has nothing to do with imperialism, nor with those state organism designed for conquest, pillage, genocide, colonization, and slavery. Against such imperialisms, Empire expands and consolidates the model of network power. Certainly.. the expansive moments of empire have been bathed in tears and blood, but this ignoble history does not negate difference between the two concepts.

Arjun Appadurai’s Modernity at Large: cultural dimension of Globalisation
catalogues of ' multiple locations' and new hybridity, new forms of communication, new foods, new clothes and new patterns of consumption are offeredas evidence for both the newness and the benefits of globalisation.
Simon Gikandi’s "Globalisation and the claim of Postcoloniality"
Samuel Huntington ‘s rhetoric of clashing civilization.
Joseph E. Stiglitz’s phrase Market Fundamentalism.
The international financial institutions have pushed a particular ideol- politics; it is based on premises concerning how markets work that do not hold even for developed countries, much less for developing countries. The IME has pushed these economic policies without a broader vision of society or the role of economics within society. And it has pushed these policies in ways that have undermined emerging democracies. More generally, globalization itself has been governed in ways that are undemocratic and have been disadvantageous to developing countries, especially the poor within those countries. (2002:)
Nicanor Apaza’s An Unemployment miner
P. Sainath’s And then there was the market.
Market fundamentalism destroys more human lives than any other simply because it cuts across all national, cultural, geographic, reli- gious and other boundaries. It's as much at home in Moscow as in Mumbai or Minnesota.A South Africa - whose advances in the early 1990s thrilled the world- moved swiftly from apartheid to neo-liberal- ism.It sits as easily in Hindu, Islamic or Christian societies. And it contributes angry, despairing recruits to the armies of all religious fundamentalisms.Based on the premise that the market is the solu- tion to all the problems of the human race, it is, too, a very religious fundamentalism. It has its own Gospel: The Gospel of St. Growth, of St. Choice...

CONCLUSION: THE FUTURE OF POSTCOLONIAL STUDIES
This article began with the one statement by Gaytri Chakravorty Spivak, that ' no longer has a postcolonial perspective. I think postcolonial is the day before yesterday'. In this article Loomba said that through Globalization we do more damage to the environment. In this conclusion she wants to briefly reflect on some of these challenges and what they might mean for a postcolonial critique.
Vandana Shiva :
Vandana Shiva has exposed the connection between colonialism and the destruction of environmental diversity. She argues that the growth Capitalism, and now of trans-national corporations, exacerbated the dynamic begun under colonialism which has destroyed sustain-able local cultures; these cultures were also more women-friendly, partly because women’s work was so crucially tied to producing food and fodder.
'one cannot talk about saving the environment while ignoring the needs of human lives and communities (Shiva 1988; Agarwal 1999).'
Other feminist environmentalists are more sceptical of such an assessment of pre-colonial cultures, which, they point out, were also stratified and patriarchal; however, they agree that questions of ecology and human culture are intricately linked.
